When I try to upload my avatar it says that the file is too big, has to be under 20,000 k. How would I reduce the file size of my image without sacrificing resolution? Its at 76X100 pixels right now. Thanks a lot.

P.S. I have photoshop

What format is it in? BMP is the "fattest" I think. You should try GIF or JPG.

it's a JPG.

Try lowering the JPEG quality until the file is small enough, or try turning it into a GIF (you'll be amazed how good Photoshop can make an image look with only 256 colours!)

Just curious, but where is there a City/Place that requires a minimum filesize on images? Just curious... I Have heard of such limitations being places on objects uploaded to a virtual mall.

Also, could you please show us this image? It might help... ;)

There is a serious problem somewhere if your image is 76 x 100 pixels and it is over 20,000k. Mattclary's icon on this page is 100 x 100 pixels and about 84k as a jpeg. The other Matt's avatar (Valiant Knight) is also 100 x 100 pixels and is about 88k as a gif.

Check the file size of your avatar on your computer.
