Are there any ways to rendering clip camera? I want to render a section effect like SKETCHUP's section or 3dsmax's camera clip...TKS!....>~<

God, I wish.

It won't be be in perspective but you use the Ortho camera and move its plane into the part that you want to cut. Everything forward of that plane is seen; that which is behind it isn't.

THX!~NOW I get a new way to rendering using the Ortheo camera to rendering. But I guess we still need the function of perspactive camera to do it >~<....

use advance camera then pick item>poly to be the camera.

Great! I think this is the only way to rendering the section of interior space using lightwave standard function. Thanks for your reply! But i wish VPR can support the advance camera preview.

eh? It does! Just deactivate draft mode from the VPR and thatīs it.

Can someone explain this technique further? I find the instructions too vague.

For starters, what's a 'clip camera'?

For starters, what's a 'clip camera'?

Instead of starting ray at camera position start at near clip, and instead of ending ray at background or the closest geometry, end at far clip.

Oh so it's like having a Bake Cage. Rays go from geometry to corresponding location on cage. Well LW can send them out from polys, I don't know about setting a target and kill the rays though.

Yes,that' it.

So, has anyone got a render showing this effect in LW?

Which one? There are a few solutions. Here's a section of an architectural cutaway that the Ortho Camera produced in Realistic mode:

But basically cutting through all the noise the answer is, no, there is no way to render with clipping planes in the perspective camera view like you can in 3dm or Sketchup (and Modo).
