View Full Version : Upping Realism with Shader Nodes

I'm looking to up my realism game in my renders! My current approach is using basic gradients, real world texture maps and a little reflection blurring. I've been playing a lot with Conductor and Delta nodes for metals and glass all of which are getting me some great results with not too much effort!

Have played a little with the Shader nodes, but to be honest, not really sure what I'm doing and was wondering how effective they are. Can anyone suggest a situation where you would go straight for one of the shader nodes in order to achieve a specific material? Or do you only use the shader nodes?

Yeah, OK reading back it's an incredibly fluffy-brained post! Here's some interesting reading - should have spent a little longer on Google in the first place!
