View Full Version : Kinect: Mirror-Issue

Another issue I got aware: When I'm capturing with the Kinect and open the Kinect-View the scene is mirrored. Okay - I switch on 'Mirror' in the Kinect-controlpanel. In this case the movements are scanned correctly but the names of the bones are mirrored. So when I try a retarget with the Nevron-skeleton the limbs are confused.
When I capture with 'Mirror' switched off, the movements are inverted but the naming of the bones is correct and therefore retargeting is okay.
Is there something wrong with my Kinect or is there somewhere else a switch I didn't realise?

It looks like we need a new NevronMotion preset to be used with mirror on. Inverting the Left/Right retargeting assignments should work fine. Thank you for pointing this out!

Speaking of Nevron Motion Presets, where can we find the latest presets. I am still working with the ones that shipped with the product at launch and i am sure some more have come out. Is there a collection of the latest ones somewhere so we can all have the newest available?

thank you for your reply. I will change the mapping in the Nevron-preset for Kinect and save it as e.g. 'Kinect_Mirror_On'

Well, I tried to change the mapping in the Nevron-table but it doesn't work. I think it has something to do with the rotations of the bones. I tried it with a running-on-spot-capture and after some frames the heading of the hip turns 180 degree and the character looks like a wasp. With a non-mirror-capture it works fine. So I will continue with that.
