Ok..

I will order the next generation G5 for sure! The 'dual 2.5 G5' as it will probably be..

I have a ATA 133 internal Harddrive on the shelve, 160GB, never used it, brand new! 8MB buffer..

Will this fit (and work) in the new G5's, since they use "Serial"-ATA ???

Would be a waste just to throw away the drive  ;)

There are converters to hook up P-ATA drives to a S-ATA port, it should cost you $15-$25 or so.
Cheers,
Mike - scuttling back off to the PC side of things...

Hm, I definetely tend to model to wrong objects, that _never_ happened to me (well, may be you have some bread crumbs under your mouse?) ;)

You might want to check out this page http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86416

it says the P-ATA adapter is not supported or recommended by Apple.

D'OH!!!

NOOOOOOO!!! Thanx for the info!! Good to know!! Then I have to hunt for an external case then! But they are sooo hard to find here! Or they only support up to 120 GB or they support ATA 33 or they do not ship outside of US or ... Have gone through that one before :(

My mouse-pointer is trembling again!! And I'm not working on such models ;)
