Maybe a stupid question but even more stupid is that this information is hard to find when you really wanna know!

Does Lightwave 11.6 support FBX version 6 or 7?

Are you looking for compatibility with a specific program? And are you having trouble with import or export?

I think LightWave is compatible with multiple versions of FBX. I haven't really thought about it much since I rarely have a problem importing and exporting FBX--I just use the defaults.

One situation where I do run into a problem is when I bring a LightWave camera into Fusion--for this to work properly, I need to save the camera in FBX 2010 from LightWave because higher versions will not carry over animation data.

Yeah I am looking for working solutions between (DAZ Studio or Poser Pro) and Lightwave. I want to export 3D-characters from these softwares into Lightwave with FBX and BVH files.

Not sure. However, Autodesk have an FBX convertor that should be able to bring forward older files (I don't know if it will go back that far for conversion the other way).

I don't work with DAZ or Poser but Mr. Rid has. Here topic topic he created a while back with a neat demonstration:

There was a recent thread on this topic that had input from several people--can't seem to find it now but it's buried in the forum somewhere.

Maybe this was it:

Thank goodness for Google--the native forum search engine totally failed finding this.
