I'm trying to render my scene in normal .avi with uncompressed frames, which I've done before and it worked, but now I render and when I try to open the movie it says its an unrecognized format. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. The only thing I can think is I changed the start/stop frame, that seems to be when the problem started but I'm not sure. I set the start/stop frames back to 0 and 480 which are the first and last frames but still doesnt work. Any ideas? thanks

ALWAYS render out sequential frames, then you can use Lightwave to make videos from them.

Try to open the AVI in VirtualDub. Download via virtualdub.org
If it canīt repair missing data then it might let you check the file info for clues, but in this case you need to rerender anyway.

Is your AVI file exactly 4GB?
Did you render to ntfs formatted disk? Or fat32?
