View Full Version : 11.6 motion vectors broken.

Can someone confirm this? 11.5.1 renders motion vectors in a way they can be used directly in Fusion but 11.6 renders something what looks blown out and gives strange results.

I used the 11.6 motion vectors without problem in Nuke ( just have to invert the x vector - don't ask me why). It even works with instances now...

Mmmm good to know. Are you sure the where rendered correctly? My whole image gets blurred when I used them. In fusion you also need to flip the X vector but that's not the problem. When I compare the vectors from 11.5 and 11.6 they look totally different.

I have not used it in 11.5, primarily because it did not work with instancing but in Nuke I was able to tune the amount of blur needed without problem.

Actually, my scene was using camera movement, so i was kind of expecting the blur to apply to the whole image. I'll check again with different scene when I have the time...

Is there a rogue colorspace setting screwing with the output gamma?

I created a new scene and found the bug. Each AA pass ads more garbage to the image. With AA at 0 everything is fine. With AA at 4 - 12 you get the image I attached.
I also attached the scene so someone else can check.

In my original scene the garbage was even worse. There something going on with the shadow in the vector pass.

Well the good news is that 11.6 we got now is the beta version, so still time to fix it:) Please report the bug if you can.

So until it's fixed I guess we'll have to render a separate vector pass.
