Hey guys,
Here at work we do a ton of virtual set work and we feel strongly that if there was a way to use the Kinect motion sensor for camera tracking it would be a Godsend. (Hell I am doing camera tracking right now).

I was thinking that a way to accomplish this would be to use a Kinect bar hooked a camera using a rig, and some on set markers.

The rig could look like this http://www.geek.com/news/kinect-and-a-dslr-team-up-to-add-depth-to-your-videos-literally-1487297/

We could use this for our virtual set work here at the office.

What do you guys think? Can this be done?

maybe you can just attach a print of your face to the camera so the kinect tracks it thinking it's your actual face :)
Being serious :) it might really work

Not sure about your credibility in front of your client though...
The Ps3 thing seems like a better option.
