Dear Friends:

A long time ago I bought a used lightwave tutorial booklet,
I did not have time to check it out and put the box in storage.
A few days ago I went to the storage to get it, and I was surprised
to find out that not only the booklet was there, but also it came
with the complete character animation certification for MAYA 3 in book form.
The package also included the 'learning maya' introductory book for maya.
I was very happy to find these....and after skimming thru the maya certification book
I found out how much similar to lightwave is the character animation in MAYA.
Maybe I can get a used copy -legit- for maya 3 so I can test these tutorials?
What do you think ?

Hm...maaaybe. Maya 3 is pretty old. I also don't recall Autodesk's policy on selling/transferring licenses. I don't think it's as easy as LW's. You could try downloading the demo and then see how much of your training still translates.

Autode$k don't allow licence transferal.
They don't allow an upgrade path for versions 3 steps older than the current one.
You would be much better off throwing this book in the trash and getting a more modern tutorial for software you already own

Worth noting, Autodesk provide some very, very good learning material for Maya directly from their site :

The Getting Started material, in particular, is excellent.
