I hope we haven't got David into trouble...

I was thinking the same. Was the thread censored? Why?

I do hope that censorship is not the case.

What else it might be? Technical reasons?

It would be a shame, he restored hope for a few of us (for me at least) by providing some insight.

Same here! Finally we get some real feedback from someone inside lw dev team and now that. What a shame!

I think he got in trouble, hope not :s
Most developpers I know are really honest and don't really hold things back (as their job is to be rational, rely on facts).
Sometimes too much to the taste of managers / bosses.

I was happy to read what he had to say and dind't take it for promises as he sayed many times that it was only his point of view from where he stands.

That would be sad that he gets in trouble as this thread was really nice and we needed some sort of direct communication.
I saw nothing comprimising for NT, LW3DG or toward competition so I hope we get an explanation :(

We don't know what kind of internal agreement they have concerning infos so it might just be normal to shut down this sort of thread.
Anyway, thanks David for that time you've taken to discuss with us while you could just chill and rest (well deserved rest).

Too bad we also lose the rest of the discussion!

Before this very post I had 200 posts. After posting this I will have 201 posts.
Yesterday I had 203 posts. The last 3 of them were in Lardbros`s thread about Siggraph.

It`s obvious to me it was deleted.
Rob Powers, what do you think about this?
Just curious.
As a fellow artist like us.

That was actually one of the best threads, coming from NT/LW3DG, in well.....a very long time. It would be a shame if it was all censored...a real shame.

i guess us feeling reassured or having any kind of understanding about LightWave development isnt part of the roadmap.

Funny thing is i was about to copy all of his posts to read it in a calm environment because with compute noise, colleagues, fan, I couldn't concentrate and to fully understand technical explanations in english, i have to be really concentrated!
When I refreshed, gone!

The name of the thread was:
Siggraph 2013... New Product to be announced?!? What's all this ... (http://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?136543-Siggraph-2013-New-Product-to-be-announced-!-What-s-all-this-then&p=1334891)

David did make it clear that he was not speaking for the rest of the team and that what he talked about shouldn't be taken as him speaking for the lw3dg.

I suppose they have their reasons for deleting the thread... even if most of us probably don't agree with them.

No one got in trouble. But that's not the way communication should work. Especially if users start making wrong assumptions or digging the past (that always leads nowhere). I think that what David said was very positive. But it was inviting everyone to speculate a little too much. We're a company, we have strategies. That's why I deleted the thread. ;)
