View Full Version : Bullet Objects keep bouncing

Hi,

I'm playing around with bullet dynamics, it works great, but there's one thing that puzzles me... When simulating falling objects, they keep on bouncing around... or at least they keep shaking a bit. Any idea on how to fix this?

From my limited use of it, I had the same problems and in the end I had to animate the Time Scale down to 0% when I wanted the simulation to stop.

No matter what I did with the dampening settings, it never seemed to stop it moving.

Could be a couple of reasons in my experience on other tests :

Bad collision hulls (fracture create a lot of bad hulls)
The default dynamic fps is way to low (i think this is the default settings for use in games), try upping it to 1440 or 3600 (helped us get rid of jitters in a simulation of an exploding glass display case)
Friction/bounciness tweaking (sometimes setting this wrong seems to cause strange errors in energy transfer with collisions), check both the colliders in the collision.
