View Full Version : Detaching particles from emitter with the edittool and make path....

Okay, I have an emitter with 20 particles.

After a few seconds I want to take control of the particles, just want to keyframe them!

In the edittool (emitter properties) there is an option to choose a certain (editnode) particle, then when you choose make path it will be detached from the emitter.

Now you can keyframe your free particle.

Question: Is there an option to make paths for all particles in the emitter at once or do I have it to do, in this case, 20 times.....could have been 1000:D

On the same Edit pane; EditNode 0, (click on a particle) then under Command/ have a look at the options there. I'm pretty sure you can apply paths to groups of particles by "nesting" them in nulls.

You could use Fxlinker to attach nulls to the particles and then bake the motions out.
