So...I don't have a sony Ps3 but I've just watched a walkthru of this Game and wow, it certainly delivers a great storyline and powerful acting.

The game looks to have been created with Maya and Zbrush:

okay so no sign of lightwave but had to share as i've watch a cutscene and some gameplay edit of the game so it's more like a movie..it's excellent, best "movie"
i've seen this year so far.

Makes me want to get a ps3!

I had only watched the trailer for this before but geez, this has good acting and better writing than most big budget Hollywood movies today. I'd rather sit in the theatre and watch this.

Bought this last weekend, but only had time to play it for a few hours. It was an incredible few hours though :) And please - no story spoilers here. The story's one of the best things about this game, I'd hate to have it ruined by someone giving away the ending or any major plot twists!

Wow,game based on motion capture, the scenes are looking beautiful just like in a movie,I think it's a trend for game developers to use motion capture in the recent future. It's a good thing.

According to CVG, it won the award for the best rendered bunny in the history of video games:

I'm looking forward to how good such a game can look with the PS4.

Yep, that's one heck of a bunny, no question. The title looks exceptionally well done in story, writing and acting. I agree with the others, I'd rather watch something like that over another tired retread, sequel or prequel (meh, more like nyquil). It shows games are really beginning to come into their own as a dramatic medium.

I think games came into their own as a dramatic medium 20 years ago, with stuff like Gabriel Knight and Death Gate. I guess we could say that 3D games are finally catching back up with what 2D games were already doing in the 90s.

I've been playing a lot of games lately :) and a lot of them nowadays are really more like interactive movies. It's not a new concept, but games like Bioshock Infinite, (the new) Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Metro Last Light, etc., are really good at "play a little bit > somewhat seamless cut scene > play some more". Far Cry 3 is especially good at bridging the gap between open world gameplay and in-engine cutscenes which move the story along, and it also had a couple of different endings to keep the story from being too canned. Dishonored can play differently each time you play it. You can't really change the outcome of the main story, but your actions during the game have an effect on the ending.

While The Last of Us looks really good and seems to have an engaging story, I wonder if it's really linear like Bioshock. You can explore somewhat, but you can't deviate too much from the main path. It looks like a CG movie that you're particpating in, but you can't really affect how it will end. Not that that's bad, just that I can watch TLOU movie at the link above and feel like I didn't miss anything. Let me know if that's wrong since I don't have a Playstation.

I have the new Tomb Raider waiting here for me :). Playing Tales of Graces F at the moment (almost finished).

I agree that more and more games are better entertainment than movies. I played Skyrim till the end and man, I had a lot of fun :).

I actually had more fun with the new Tomb Raider than the ultra-hyped Bioshock Infinite. Don't get me wrong, BI was a great game, but I was somewhat disappointed that it wasn't more free-form.

I bought Tombraider on Monday. It's a great game and reminds me of Alan Wake for some reason?

Gotta love the modelling and texturing skills.

I'm watching Pewdiepie's Let's Play. For those who won't play the game, it's still a blast; I would not change it for a 2-hour version. Besides, it's healthy for me that he's only uploading 30 minutes a day (with few exceptions)

I've seen the character model on XNALara websites, but I haven't seen it imported into LW yet. BTW -- there's an "un-dirty" version out there also :)

I got the model from some random web site, and set up all the textures to work within Lightwave & now Octane. I've learnt a lot about the texturing procedure from re-assembling game models. ;)
