Speed Modeling Challenge #220 - Spy vs. Spy

1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger. (For wireframe help go to: http://www.artssphere.com/plugins/polygoncoloring.php)
3. LightWave must be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6. The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.


This week's topic: Spy vs. Spy

In honor of our government (at least here in the US) spying on everything we do, model one of the Spy vs. Spy guys..... OR..... One of their dastardly weapons (negative points for a sphere with a wick....at least try the TNT bundle with a timer ;) )..... OR..... Any piece of espionage equipment. Night vision goggles, shoe phone, Tape recorder in a Bible, poison needle pen... I'll leave it up to you.

Never played this one, but I did have a C64.

How did you get the texture on the straps?

Thanks Wittywop. The tape texture is just the grid node mapped via a UV map to the polys, it controls the reflection via a frensel node and the colour.

I'm at time....

Bit off a lot to chew........ almost made it.

Still a WIP. The 'ol melting ice cube as counterweight dangling Mr. Spy over the cactus rig.
If you've seen it once you've seen it a million times.... ;D :D.

They seemed to enjoy carrying their stuff around in Doctor's Bags.
Much more difficult to model that I expected 8/

The NSA (National Security Agency) has been following this challenge and has informed me of the following results:

Very beautiful and *cough* imaginative entries (aka... you have some mo-cap or tracking thing going on?).

akaracquel had me dreaming about what I could find in Iain's case in order to defuse XswampyX's bomb.....
It was close, very close.....
Winner - In the end the tangle of wires got me! I snip the blue wire (and then of course a piano drops on my head :D). XswampyX :thumbsup:

Oh, oops, didn't see that. No wonder, they were .... mesmerizing!

Head was done manually. Took the plunge and ordered a kinect for WIN device, so my first step towards trying to enable mocap for use within LW (somehow, eventually) ~ is arriving tommorrow :bday:

Well, I haven't won one of these for a long while so I'm going to enter every time only two others compete (and when XSwampyX is over time! Even your most elaborate entries are usually under the hour but that one is a complex beast so it's understandable.)
