Just though I'd do a shout out for any LW-ers in or near London who didn't see the earlier postings in the usergroup section: There's a London Lightwave User Group event tomorrow evening (Thursday 30th), hosted at Darkside Animation.

There's going to be a Turbulence 3D demo by Andrew Bishop (of Darkside), and I'm doing a walkthrough showing how I put together the Radio1xtra promo for the BBC in Lightwave and After Effects.
It starts at 6pm, though the talks themselves will probably start around 6.30pm. Then grab some beers afterwards in the nearby local!

Here's the flyer:

And if you're on facebook, why not join the London Lightwave group (we are a friendly bunch!) and sign up for the event here:

Thanks for posting! Haven't been to one of these before and hopefully I'll be in the area. Do I need to book a place?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the heads-up.

For those of us who unfortunately can't make it to this meeting, will anyone be producing a video of the proceedings? For example, the LA LightWave User's Group (http://www.lalightwave.com/Videos/) post videos of their meetings on their web site and these have proven to be both very interesting and an invaluable source of useful information!

If someone does happen to video Thursday's meeting please ensure it's recorded and posted in HD as the only negative comment I would level at the LA LW User Group's videos is that the video quality is sometimes a bit poor, which makes it very hard to read the labels and associated settings being used in, for example, plugins being demonstrated.

All the best,
Peter

Nope, just come along. Last time we had about 10-15 people, it's not crazy busy - yet!

It's certainly something I've thought about, but there's no easy way to do this - at least in time for tomorrow's event. Hehe, now if I could persuade NewTek to loan me a tricaster for these events it might be another matter!

Unfortunately, capturing a presentation in high quality requires a lot of gear I just don't have access too - like mikes, multiple cameras etc. And then afterwards there's the time it takes to edit it down. It's a non-trivial job, and I'm not getting paid for it ;)

hi dsol,

I understand there are Tricasters lurking about in Windsor!

(cos Pinewood got theirs from there)
