View Full Version : Rendering EVERYTHING?

It seems to me that when I render an animation or frame, everything is rendered, even if it is not visible to the camera. I can tell because I've had something in view of the camera, and then fly offscreen, so that nothing is there, yet it still takes the same amount of time to render even though the object is not visible anymore and shouldn't take as long. Is there any way to render only what is in view of the camera?

It might not be the object that flies off camera that is taking any real length of time to render, your scene itself might be to blame. I guess you could try using an envelope on the dissolve channel under your object properties to make the object disappear once the camera is no longer on it and see if that helps.

It could also be that your objects on screen are reflective...maybe? And you're using Raytracing etc.? Just a thought...
