Xbox One - Kinect new specs - lightwave mo cap?

Will lightwave 11.5 or 12 get the update for the new kinect that's coming for xbox One?
ythe specs appear much higher than the current kinect with a 1080p camera @ 60fps

Sweet.. Would be interesting to see what IPI soft devs come out with this.

Excited about it, but the skeleton tracking still exhibits some joint flipping and problems in the lower legs and hands. It also still can't handle the character rotating fully. So any great solutions will probably still require 2 or more kinects to work really nice.

its still in develop stage so i am sure it will get polished.. but even with occasion flip flop which can be fixed inside lw it is the best low cost mocap solution out there for small studios and it really boosts over kinect 1 ! very excited. plus you get xbox with it :) for some deadline stress relief :)

The Design Sucks, it looks like a friggin BOX...... No smooth design, looks like 1980s Box Design. Heck even the C64 looks better than that.

My feeling is since MS wants it to replace all of your TV-related media boxes, they want it to look like that's what it's supposed to do. If they made it all space-age hippy radical weird shapes, it would lose it's appeal to those folks that don't necessarily buy Halo, but want an entertainment device that Skypes, plays Blue-Ray disks, connects to the internet, etc.

Hmmm, not backwards compatible with 360 games. What a ripoff. I'll stick with a PC that I can upgrade when I want to and plays just about every PC game ever made.

WOW! The detail in the depth mode is incredible. I agree about the joint artifacts being whacked out. Hopefully that's just early development showing its ugly head!

I like how the kinect detecs rotations of limbs. This is something new in mocap AFAIK.

It's a good thing I'm not totally paranoid about having an IR/High Res sensor that can identify me and check my pulse in my living room connected up to a cloud service run by a company seriously investing in how analyze 'big data' or I might be a bit freaked out by this. :)

It's not quite 1984... at least you can turn these off/unplug them if you want.

I agree about it being ugly and too boxy. In some ways it's pretty similar to Wii with it's square shape and near 45 degree bevel.

This would be great with LightWave, but one step at a time. We don't even have access to the current Kinect yet.

No.... but the XBox Server army makes it a bit more creepy. A few trillion servers? Big Brother and Skynet rolled into one... SCARY!
