View Full Version : Help with reflective surfaces.

Hi,

I'm curretnly building and surfacing a model for an art gallery scene, but am trying to get still accurate first.
I used to know how to do it, but can't for the life of me remember how to stop surfaces reflecting as in the circled area in the image. The area above the gallery's entrance is reflecting light from the entrance but it looks too much. Do I have to turn off Self shadow in my render settings for my render surface? Please help, I'm sure it's a simple solution but I'm just overlooking it.

It's doesn't look like Reflection, more like radiosity is having too much impact. Just give these top surfaces a different name & reduce the Diffuse channel percentage. If you don't see the roof turn it way down. Or if this surface is on a different layer turn off Radiosity.

The roof of the bridge is being lit really bright and that is bleeding light onto the walls, you could change that roof to another surface and tweak it to your liking.
