Wow, that is very cool. Thanks for posting the video. (I saw it yesterday but the video is apparently gone from YouTube now. You can still see a different video at the website though.)

I'm still counting on the devs at iPi Soft to get Myo (http://www.atangeo.com/products)will working with there system. It's affordable enough to get two of them and it works with bluetooth just like the other motion controllers (PS Move, Wii Motion+) used by iPi Mocap Studio. I have to admit I'm slightly skeptical of the technology but if it really works, it's pretty awesome. It's going to be a while though--Myo isn't scheduled for release until next year. The developer's program is about to start soon, they'll at least get a head start on with it.

Wow. I'll wait for Myo then. Or just keyframe my fingers like I do now--it's really no big deal. :p

Do they have left and right?

Actually, the hand pose system in iPi makes it pretty easy to get hand animations on mocap. It's essentially a pose library and you use it with the video reference recorded with the PS Eyes or Kinects. To use it, just look at the hand pose in the video, select a hand pose and make a keyframe. A ramp appears on the timeline so you can adjust how quickly it transitions from the previous pose on the timeline. Very simple but effective. You can create you're own poses, of course, and the tool even has a command for mirroring the hand poses. The interface is a little crude but this is the first implementation of the tool and I expect they will continue to improve it in upcoming versions.

Of course this isn't the same as a real hand capture system but used with the multi-camera video reference it's sort of a low-tech hand capture system--and it's a lot cheaper than the gloves. :)

That price for those Gloves, way uncool!

I have an old Atairi VR sensor Glove.

I got it the Virtual Reality wave of the 90's,

Full haptic feedback gloves where never those

prices even then!

A kit bashed version, if you get the sensors, is

possible,surely!

$15K is crazy money

i'm sure the new Kinect pro coming out for xboxone will get developed for face tracking, hands etc.
