Mac and PC. Cheap and real time mocap. Anyone tried it?


hope the lightwave kinect can support 360 motion like this one.

I'd like to see more about this product, as with my Unity/Kinect experience, I can't believe that 360 rotations are anything other than faked and interpolated here. One Kinect has occlusion problems so unless they have magic, I'm not sure how that is possible to do accurately. Are theY also doing hand and foot rotations? Is neck and head bends and rotations included? The new MS SDK is better and has more bones, but are they using that or the PrimeSense stuff?

I've been using Fastmocap for a few weeks and I'm pretty happy with the results so far. It's extremely simple!
For the 360 however there is really no magic trick occlusion does occur but if you turn in a 360 motion then face the kinect again there is no occlusion issue.

Looks like a cleanup nightmare to me. Not even IKBooster's tools could make that slippery foot placement look right without a ton of manual work (in which case you may as well be doing it FK). The upper body motions seem usable though.
