View Full Version : "Luminance fade"

Anyone know the equivalent to this Speed Razor transition effect? There must be something similar in VTEdit.

Speed Razor's "Luminance fade" uses the dark and bright areas of an image as fade channels, instantly fading dark areas and slowly fading bright areas, or vice versa. Very cool results, I used to work a lot with that neat transition, and I'd love to do in VTE as well.

Don't know of a premade transition, but you could achieve this by playing with your splines then save as a preset in Toolshed for later use.

Don't forget there are a bunch of video processing effects included with VT3 in the DVE folders. Rainbow, Inverse, Posterize, LumaKey, etc.

It is a little tricky to get them to work right and I know they work from the switcher, and I think from the timeline as well but not absolutely sure...

And like Jim mentioned, you can do a luma key and manipulate it's setting with nodes...

Here are a couple presets I made to fade from and to white using the luma.

Place them in your: C:\VT3\User Data\Administrator\Spline Presets
