I needed to model a one more model for last cars pack I did for DoschDesign. One needs to be replaced because
BMW hate 3d artists. This nice MINI Paceman I did earlier must go :-(
As always in my case it is 100% sub-d and around 50.000 polys.
Rendered in native LW3d renderer.

You were hilarious on your blog about this.

Very nice! Lovely renders.

Btw. Although I agree with you on the subject. We all need to remember that it's just company securing their IP, nothing more. You wouldn't be happy if something you designed would be used by others to make money and although it's great to have a free advertisement as you say, we all know it can be good or bad sometimes, plus while you and dosch are both making money from using their models, BMW is not. As far as I'm concerned it's okay to create their model for non-profit projects.
To be fair I'm surprised it's only BMW doing this, most companies probably haven't looked into this issue yet, to busy with the ongoing crisis:)

Maybe You are right 50one but still, what is the damage ? What is the loss ? I will not pay them or anything anyway. After that I will probably not even consider their cars worthy of my money. This means WAR ;-)
I will buy myself some nice Audi, good Catholic Audi from Ingolstad and not some Bavarian Protestant BMW ;-)
And all jokes aside I hope You are wrong and other Companies will not go this road because this will make me unemployed and others without new cars models.
No one will ever license any rights to model something. People will start to change models, remove badges and give them funny and similar sounding names like in games where licensing is common thing.

Hehe, I can imagine there won't be any substantial loss for them...but there won't be any profit either and that's the most annoying part for them. I think most of us noticed, that when you're looking online for a specific car, most of the times you'll finding wip(s) of that car being modeled or various links to 3d models and renders and frankly most people won't notice the difference between render and an actual car and this will confuse them:)

Nice model. Cool blog. I think Ford also doesn't like 3D artists.
