Speed Modeling Challenge #213 - Pokemon

Rules:

1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger. (For wireframe help go to: http://www.artssphere.com/plugins/polygoncoloring.php)
3. LightWave must be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6. The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.

Snorlax modeling time 15 minutes. The texturing is kinda crap cause well I suck at texturing. Snorlax was always my favorite pokemon growing up so here he is. Guessing the Pokemon silhouette since I see a bone I'm going to guess Marowak.

How old are the Pokemon savvy folks? I'm definitely feeling at least a good decade older than them :D

Well I'm 38 and not Pokemon savvy by any means. I used my son's Pokedex to find something to model.

Late 40's here. I remember watching Pokemon with my Niece when she was 3 (She'll be 16 this year...) I wouldn't say savvy, but rather, well Googled.

And wouldn't you know, someone has a topic about SubD modeling just below this one... :)

I'm 26 and def Original 151 pokemon Savvy. Collected the cards and played the games was never into the show or movies. I remember getting Pokemon Red as my first Gamebody Color game. My best friend got Blue and we would trade Pokemon at recess. The games/cards/show came out in 98 so I would've been 11 or 12. Loving all these Pokemon models awesome throwback to my younger days.

Decided to add one more as it kinda just hit me. Modeling time 19 minutes. Pokemon #137 Porygon!

I doubt I need a wired view as his wires are all showing so I'll attach my reference image instead.

Nice work all!

I know just about nothing about Pokemon. Had to do some research just to figure out what is what.

Decided to make a PokeBall. Took me about 40 minutes to make the model. Took about an hour and half to light and texture.

I'm 36. Distinctively remember Pokemon as being one of those 'this is for the next gen after me to enjoy' things :)
Overtime with Caterpie.

Wow, thanks Samoht VII! Wasn't expecting that. My personal favourite was PokeBall, closely followed by Magnemite.

I will now have to think of something for next week's challenge.
