I've been experimenting with modeling a carpet. But I don't have any results I'm confident to share. I'm messing around with FiberFX now and getting interesting results but nothing that looks like a carpet. Does anyone have any great ideas for doing this? A site showing FiberFX settings I can copy to have a baseline to understand what settings do what thing? I've seen examples on the net that just look like a big patch of hair on the floor.

have you tried displacing the mesh to make the carpet. You could also use FiberFX Modeler to generate polycards. Or you could clump FiberFX to get a carpet look. Do a search as I have video tutorials that show all of these techniques and more.

Thanks a lot! I just found the manual a few minutes ago and that's very helpful too.

Starting to get the hang of it. I came up with this today.
