I may have missed something so if this has been discussed already I apologize in advance. I could not find it in a search of the forums. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if I brought this up here before and have forgotten.
Anyway...I'm hoping that eventually we will be able to Package, group, nest and instance LW nodes. Here is an example from an app/PS filter that I'm sure more than a few of you already use or at least know about: http://www.filterforge.com/download/beta4/groups-and-instancing.html
Filter Forge has done a pretty good job with thier nodes and are improving with ever new release. 4.0 is adding this functionality and it's working pretty good in the beta.

As powerful as lw nodes are I would love to be able to put a complex node system together, package it and then tie all the appropriate controls to a simple panel so that is all I would need to interact with while working.
There used to be a LW nodal plugin called Sabre that would allow the user "Black box" a node setup so you could use it as another node or simplify it so another user could use it without hunting and pecking through a complex setup.

It would be great to see a "Packaged" Jen (cellshader) Hachigian cell shading nodal setup that rivals Sketch and Toon in C4D studio (yes S&T has some issues but you can get great results very quickly) along with a ton of others.
Maybe it's already in the dev pipeline but just thought I'd ask.

Theres a couple plugins that let u do it, search around on plugin db... Otherwise, natively, no. Would be nice... love the way ICE does it, LW needs that.

There's this for grouping nodes.

Pom has a group node, too. What is the advantage of sensei group node compared to the other one?

Compounds, yeah that would be nice and very much welcome addition. Make a FR :).

What is the advantage of sensei group node compared to the other one?

Editable inputs (arguments to group) ?
Editable outputs?
Saving nodes in external file, to workaround IFF sub-chunk limit?
Copy'n'paste file, reload scene and group is doing something else?

Eventually it would be nice to see LW nodes take a few features from something like this : http://www.ni.com/labview/whatis/graphical-programming/
NI has been doing graphical programming in Labview for around 20 years. Although LW does not do motion control or data acquisition there are plenty of lessons to be learned from the way Labview has evolved. I've probably posted this before but what the hell.

Mental Mill had it perfect until someone bought them up and then killed it..

I think the people that did Filterforge learned a few things from Mental Mill. :)
