Hi all. Has anyone figured out how we can view objects or scenes without having to open in LW?
I am using TNG Viewr, but I was hoping for a more robust way to view LW files like Adobe Bridge.

Thanks

nope ...not sure if there was a free version of some 3d viewers some time ago, best would be to get new improved preset system displaying object thumbs at least.

I know I have asked for a perspective thumbnail as a feature request years ago (now perhaps a VPR version?). Apparently no interest, not sexy enough of a feature, or maybe it is just deemed too much trouble for developers for too little benefit to users.

It is really a "nice to have" feature rather than a "must have". If they have finite resources to dedicate to dev. other features certainly ranked higher, like Genoma or FiberFX, etc..

Maybe a LW third party could make something to do this? But the community largely seems lax in supporting the dev's (IMO). Everytime someone addresses a need in LW the forums keep repeating "make it native" until Newtek does...stepping on the toes of the third party. We've seen it with Sasquatch, FPrime, Maestro (although Genoma is a bit different I think there is overlap), Instancing, and most currently GoAE competing with AELink, and users wanting to forego JANUS and have Newtek make pass management native.

I try to support the third part every chance I am able, because if we don't, there is no reason for them to stick around (like Worley seems to have largely moved on.)

Something called BCView came up when I googled a search.

This was going for awhile, not sure what it's current status is.

I'm sure the ones you can buy like Deep Exploration work fine too.

I use Mootools 3D browser. Works with multiple 3D object and images formats. They even have a free version. Check it out here:http://www.mootools.com/plugins/us/browsercommon/

I am thinking about buying this one.

Nice, but $300? I don't think so! Just download the free version of Mootools and drag and drop your scenes and models from Mootools into LW.

it says $40 at the front page, i think it's just a typo, contact Sensei, i think it's only $40...

$300 is the price of a package deal of all of Senseiís plug-ins. And I think that is a good deal for what he is offering. TrueLOAD is only $40.00. And I think it is a good price for this plug-in.

Oh, I see. I think Sensei is a genius. $300 is probably a good deal for the complete package of his many plugins.
