yes, you can go to construct tab/convert metaballs, but You would probably like to kill the polys first with "k" or just copy the geometry points to another layer and work on that.
Once you converted metaballs they are there, but can sometimes be difficult to see depending on size etc..you should directly select the metaballs in polygon mode, once you have them
selected go to edit metaballs, wich is under the convert metaballs, but make sure to hit "n" for the numeric values, from there you can scale the radius of them all.

All this is done in modeler though.

I advise you to change the value of "Metaball Resolution" in the "General Options" panel. 10 is too small for serious work with the Metaballs. Depending on the result you want to obtain you can also use the Metaedges and Metafaces.

Does anyone actually use Meta(x) for paying work???

Why not?

With Reduce Polys +, MergeTrigonsX, Heat Shrink, and Endomorph, there is what to do.

It would be nice to be able to generate a mesh from the HyperVoxels as can do with FiberFX.

Can also use Organica or 3D Coat in addition.

Thee´s probably uses for it, Ivé only found it useful for maybe creating some rock stuff in conjuction with fractalize, possibly some cloud shapes also perhaps.
Nothing for a paying job though, but someone else perhaps.

If they could have worked as zspheres in zbrush, that would be something, no point now perhaps with goz.
