It's about 150,000 polys, and the old B5 texture map.

The model is still there, is it good enough to submit as LW content?

hereīs a little lighting and fog studies with Dpont sunsky, sk_sun and one domelight and with fog.

reversed order..nr4 is the final, you can see the steps from..
1-without fog and without domelight.
2-added realistic fog and slight depth of field.
3- added domelight..prefer that instead of ambient occlusion, 65% intensity, pitch 90 degree to serve as skylight occlusion..100% intensity of sk_sunlight.
4- just changed sk_sunlight intensity to 150% to get harder sunlight...it picks up highligt details better I think.

radiosity settings with final gather as setup by shrox, might need switch to montecarlo for animations perhaps.

Sure it is good, cool LW spaceship for the masses. Who wants more? Thanks.

We need a sort of engineer/juggernaut style ship too, who dares to take on that bizarre intricate surface detail spaceship hull?

Hey shrox..Mine is bigger than yours.:)

this is really a horrible simple model mockup, didnt bother to get a look a like, just wanted a fast mockup alien thing in there within a couple of minutes, throwed in a low res
normal map I found somewhere, and uv map is just a basic atlas map, so thatīs really not the way to go..really:)

just checking your scale on to what I think the engineer ship might have been, something around 300 meter in diameter.

Yeah? Well yours is all...roundy and monochrome.

Did you see your other thread about how I did something similar in the past?

I just noticed it..
http://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?134863-Spacecraft-Builders-How-would-you-build-The-Engineer-vessel/page2

yeah..not entirely sure how you did anyway, a little hard to follow maybe by only words.
I think the issue might be getting a good uv mapping and also getting the big general detail structure flow to follow insome organic way.

Do you have a pic of that old stuff you did?

this was just a very fast simple mockup, a capsule bended, some bevels and multishifting, a sphere deformed by magnet and bridged to the main body, some multishifting and tweaking for the
bizarre entry hole.

I tested with a disc too that works well too, did some test with forms and heatshrink, but donīt think that will work so good.
