I'm posting this on request of Camilla (as she doesn't have a log in here) to express her gratitude to NewTek for the fine gift for Larry. Quote below from Camilla...

"I have to take the time to thank NewTek (especially Rob Powers) who have, over the years, recognized Larry for his full worth as a 3D Artist and teacher. Thank you for allowing me to use the logo on his stone because it so represents a career he loved, but more than that, I'm sincerely appreciative of the gift that was the stone itself."

I'm speechless... How many 'big' companies would do this or even allow it. Great gesture NT! Larry deserves this, wherever he is now.

Thanks for posting this, it is a sign that the world isn't completely lost after all.

I posted this on my Facebook page with the photo. Amazingly graceful gesture NewTek.

The company that makes the 3D software I use bought this headstone for a recently passed artist that used Lightwave. What other company would even think of honoring a user of their software like that? Lightwave artists are special, and Larry Shultz was very special, he helped make 3D animation what it is.

Wow... brings tears to my eyes. What a wonderful way for NewTek to honor Larry's memory and show his wife how respected and important he was to the company and this community.

Outstanding gesture, and very classy that they did it quietly and with no fuss. I read her blog from time to time, just to see how she's getting along. It sounds like her trials just continue to come and come.

I've always considered Newtek to be more centered on their customers than any other company I've encountered, but this really takes the cake. Well done, Newtek! A wonderful gesture for a most wonderful person.

All the best to Camilla and family. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes to all of you.

That makes my day, I appreciate Larry's help, he was such a willing helpful guy, and Newtek for recognizing the loss of one of their better teachers and unofficial evangelists; though they didn't always see eye to eye, they still worked well together.

What is awesome is that they've remained quiet about it and did not turn it into a marketing exercise. I'm very impressed they've suppressed the urge to tout the gesture and blow their own horn like so many companies would. It seems they realize that the gesture is just a small fraction of the evangelism and business that Larry brought to the LightWave community and ultimately their product. Very nice, Rob & company -your goodwill will come back to you! Thanks for realizing that doing business this way is the right thing to do...

Very nice gesture From Newtek and Rob, It Recognizes the appreciation from both Newtek and what Impact Larry had upon the Lightwave community.

Letīs hope his family does well in the future, I suspect that would have been Larrys most important wish if anything happened.
