I have had a look on Flay but can't find this.
Don't know if it is even out there.

I am working on converting some models and they have a myriad of surface names. In order to tidy them up and layer them better I would love to have an LScript which allowed me to enter a wildcard surface name to select and deselect polys, rather than selecting lots of individual surfaces.

e.g. Enter Win* would say select window1, window2..etc

Has anyone seen anything like this?
There are a couple of select plugins, but they are usually based on no. of points or normal direction / vmap.

I don't think this one will allow for wild cards...but it will let you select by surface...hope this helps...

Not really as it only picks up 1 surface.
If I had time, I maight be able to come up with something myself but I'm somewhat rushed at the moment :(

A lot hinges on if you can handle wildcards and then parse the surfaces. It may be that LScript isn't up to the task and I've not looked at the SDK / writing C plugins.

Anyone out there bored and fancy a challenge? Please????

I've listed a large selection of 'selection tools' here

Oh yeah - see now that's what I'm talkin about! :D
I knew it would probably be a simple script, but just didn't have time to re-learn Lscript in order to build it.

Thanks, plus of course, thanks to the author! ;)
