Can anyone tell me why my VPR render can look so good and my F9 render looks like poop?

Help me please...

The antialiasing setting it's really low, but the F9 render should really look similar to the VPR preview. It's VPR Draft Mode on or off? What happens if you replace the object with a very simple one?

The VPR is set to draft mode.

I Pulled in the Rapella Fish from LW9 content and tried it - here's what I got.

BTW, this is LW11.5
I have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti - drivers up to date.

Aloha Lino,

kicking the max samples to 5 made it look pretty good.
Going up to 10 made it even better.

thanks.

Ofcourse it is, you were renderign 1AA sample prevously while VPR renderes them anway regardless f your F9 settings :).

So either you ramp up your AA/AS or go to samples for Light/shaders and set them to somethign much higher than 1 (default). It'll look jaggy on edges ('coz there is only 1AA sample) but will look tons smoother and not grainy as now.
