Would this work?:

Add a capability to the CLONE tool such that it makes the requested # of clones,
each clone having using a weight map that is incremented for each clone instance (One map)

So, w/4 clones,

#1 has ZERO for w.mapping,
#2 has 33%
#3 has 66%
#4 has 100%

So, if you use MOVE with FALLOFF=WEIGHT MAP, you can move each clone proportionately.

This, I think, would simplify populating a dimension with a particular number of clones. Like 8 columns into an unknown length.

OR: is there already a better way to do this?

All my good ideas were implemented by Sensei YEARS ago.
