View Full Version : LWtoAE Null Export To AE 3D Corner Pin?

Hi,

I have a 3D blimp in LW that has a LCD screen with nulls at each corner. I animated the blimp & with LWtoAE got the 4 null positions into AE. Does anyone have a workflow for corner pinning video to those nulls?

Earlier I exported one null from LW that was placed at the center of the blimp screen. I parented the video layer to the null & with a matte covering the edges, got pretty good results. I't not perfect though & the video does drift a little.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried using the pickwhip to connect your corner pins to the null, or is this a problem with the null being in 3D space instead of 2D space?

This might help:

Thanks for the tutorials, I will check them out. I did the pickwhip conection, but could not get it to track right. Yes, the problem is a 3D null trying to control a 2D corner pin plugin. Thanks again. -Michael

Interestingly, VFX Wizards AE Link has a few more functions that are still very useful (but you'd have to buy it!). If you have an object in LW, AE Link will create a solid to the same dimension/placement etc in AE. It' only LW to AE but thought it was worth a mention - check out the 2nd vid in the In-Depth section:

Thanks raw-m,

Appreciate the info. VFX is impressive. Although well worth it, too much for me right now. Going to try the 3D to 2D space plugin mentioned earlier. Thanks, -Michael

Haha, yes it's only because I bought it a while ago! Looks like there's an update to it soon, according to their website.

Trackerviz is helpful in converting nulls to corner pin. It also has other tools that help with tracking.
