Just installed Livetext on a relatively robust computer, with nothing else running it seems to crash doing simple things. HELP! would a re-install help? :help:

Perhaps it would help if you could provide a bit more detail. What type of operations produce a crash? Is there a sequence of events that does it every time? What graphics card does the system use? Are you working exclusively with LiveText generated content, or are you importing some graphics files? If so, what sort, how big, etc.?

I'm having troubles with LiveText crashing when I open certain projects. Would size of project or files in projects cause LiveText to crash?

Are you using the latest version?

I think it's possible that using very large files (why do this?), or an exceptionally long list of title pages in a project, might get you into trouble.

Yes, we are using the latest version. Our projects are usually around 50 pages.

Are you importing images? What sort of resolution?

We import a few images, usually 1920x1080 or smaller.

Hmmm. That's not overly large res, so should be just fine. File format can sometimes make a difference. Anything unusual in that respect?

nope, just PNGs.

So obviously that's not it. Does it seem to you that the projects that crash are more complex (more pages) than the ones that don't? Also, could you post system specs, esp. graphics card details?

We have two projects that are identical.
HP EliteBook 8470p
Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 4000
Processor : Intel Core i7-3520M 4CPU @ 2.90Ghz

The hardware looks like it should be fine. Are you saying that you have two otehrwsie identical projects, and only one crashes - on the same computer?

They are about 98% identical. One is for Women's basketball and the other is for Men's, so there may have been one or two differences. And yes, they're on the same computer and only one crashes.

Does the crash-prone one always crash, and do so immediately on attempting to load, or at some point in working with it?
