Hi all, still working on a job, so have yet install 11.5. Can someone show me an example of a twisted wire with a heat shrink wrap around it? I model a lot of cables, and that would come in very handy. Thanks.

Yep, heat shrink + thicken makes things like that super easy.

So you can't have a tube with thickness to begin with?

No, this version will just flatten the thickness to nothing unfortunately.

I notice you have what looks like a rounded edge on the shrink wrap. Did you add that, or did shrink wrap put that on, and if so can you specify how big?

I made the wires, twisted them, then made a tube around them..shrank it, thickened it, used knife on the ends (prolly shoulda done it before heat shrink), then made it a subd.

Yes, you have numeric control on the thickness, as well as creating seperate 'edge' and 'thickened' surfaces. Thicken doesnt to any rounding, its like Smooth Shift only it seems to follow the outline better.

Thanks. Can't wait to install it, but being in the middle of a client animation, I'll wait another 5 days or so.

Hehe...waiting is hard....even harder if you have it sitting right there, looking at you, saying 'install me' in a seductive voice...lol

You got that right.
