View Full Version : Number keys in Modeler (not keypad)

I was editing the Hotkeys and it suddenly struck me (after all these years) that the 'normal' number keys are not available at all in the LWM Hotkey Editor.

Perhaps this was done to avoid collision in laptop-keyboard situations, those w/no numpad.

If there's no underlying objection, I'd think having them available would be extremely convenient.

Probably not an option as they are shortcuts to activate layers. Although I never use them for this.

I've just recently started to use them for configuring viewports, such a time saver once you get used to them. I have 7 for wire, 8 shaded, 9 shaded wire. 1 and 2 for cuad view with and without UV. The rest are still unbound.

That's the numpad numbers, and yes.

But, the keyboard numbers are hardwired to the Layer numbers within the current Layer bank.

I actually use them all the time, but as above not everybody does so, and it might make some small amount of sense to have them default to their current function, but be (newly) user-configurable.
