Evening, I'm rather new to the forums and I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few things.

The first time I got to experiment and create with LightWave software was in my high school 3D modeling courses. Now, (2+ years later), I want to get back into 3D modeling and art. I also have been looking into 3D printing and have considered investing in one in the near future.

Currently I am running on a laptop, and my biggest concern is whether or not LightWave could run smoothly on it.

I'm on a Dell Inspiron N5110,
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition
CPU Type: 2x , 2300 MHz
System Memory: 4003 MB
(2x) Video Adapter: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 (1853018 KB)

If this is not enough information, please explain what else I should include.

Thank you very much for your time.

Note: if this is in the wrong section of the forum I apologize.

I have used LW on worse systems , don't get me wrong render times and most apsects of any software will be influenced by your system specs , download the demo and take her for a spin and see how it goes.

Why not see for yourself?

Thanks guys. Should have looked into demos and stuff.

I'd also like to note that I'll be doing more modeling than rendering.

One final question:

I plan on purchasing the MakerBot Replicator 2 some time in the future.

Will I be easily able to transfer my creations in lightwave, over to the MakerBot? (sorry for the rather nooby questions, I really appreciate the help)
