Does anyone know where to get hold of the reflection maps?
There were some great maps for reflective metal textures that I used on LW9 are they still available to download?

Are you talking about the HDRI light probe images that can be used for GI in layout? If so, they were used in Siggraph seminars in 2001/03, and can be downloaded directly from Paul Debevec's probe image gallery: http://www.pauldebevec.com/Probes/

They are the reflection maps you would use for surfaces such as Silver Raytrace in the metals preset, this requires silver reflections tga, there were quite a few and you use to be able to download them.

How about this instead...

Take a sphere centered on 0,0,0 (any size),
Flip normals to point inside,
Load into Layout,
Center camera on 0,0,0 with zero rotation,
Surface at 255 white, 100% lum. 0% diff, and texture with black procedural fractal or noises of your choice and scale.
Change camera in render globals to Advanced Camera and in Advanced dialog, set Ray Dir. to Field of View, Item = Camera, and Horz. FoV = Cylinder of 360 deg., Vert. FoV = same as Horz.,
Set desired image resolution width and height to half width,
Render and save your own custom Fractal Reflection Image maps!
