Well, if it can do computations at the speed of light, that would actually mean you could do renders in negative time. Meaning all of Lightwave's benchmark scenes could be rendered in about 5 minutes ago. Provided of course that you had 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity handy at all times...

That's the easy part. All you need to do is attach a lightening rod to your computer :D

Even if you had an optical processor, you wouldn't see any benefit of the faster processeing unless the entire system (RAM, ROM, etc) was entirely optical.

Star Trek is a hell of a lot closer than you may think. Holo Storage devices are the next step after dvd, and some models are already being designed! I suspect they'll be out commecerial quantities around time Windows Longhorn official release happens.

Great now the dvd burner is going to interfere. Atleast we will be able to say the computer is not heavy anymore. Maybe I'll call mine Bud.:D

Actually, it's Libya that has this technology, or so they think. I traded them this machine (which is actually nothing but a shell filled with some used pinball machine parts) for some plutonium.

Oh no, they found me. I don't know how, but they found me....

By my calculations, when that baby hits 88 miles an hour, you're going to see some serious sh*t.
