View Full Version : Slower on-screen frame rate

Before I contact the manufacturer, I thought I'd submit my problem to the many wizards on the forums...

I recently had to replace the video card in my computer, and I now notice a substantial slow-down in how fast an animation for one of my rather complex --- large number of polygons, obviously --- scenes runs inside of LightWave. I haven't made any changes to the settings within LightWave (like lowering the bounding box threshold), but I'm wondering if there's an issue with the setup of my new graphics board of which I am unaware.

For instance, with just the camera view displayed in textured shaded solid mode, when I click to preview an animation, which used to run at 24 frames per second with my old graphics card, it now appears to take roughly a half-second per-frame

My old graphics card was an NVidia GeForce 9600GS (768MB), while I now have a Zotac GeForce 640LP (2GB). I've installed the appropriate drivers, but maybe I'm missing something else?

How up to date are those "appropriate" drivers?
