I have a dicom file that I need to find a way to convert to an actual mesh. I have successful loaded it into photoshop as a 3D volume, but photoshop offers no way to export it, nor do I even think that it's a real 3D object in photoshop.

Does volumedic for Lightwave have the ability to load a dicom file in and export as a mesh?

I think it does... There is also a free tool that I like, but it is a bit of a mess to work with and won't give as good results as Volumedic, It's ITK Snap. You can load your DICOMs and then pick a window level or "grow" parts and export as .obj. CT data works best. A bit slow, and I don't think it's multi threaded or use the GPU for help.

Sorry for the late reply, yes VoluMedic does offer tools for importing DICOM files and generating meshes from them.
