View Full Version : Bullet Dyanmics Collision not Hitting Every Piece

I have a simple board which was fractured with "fracture."

I added a parts body in bullet and used a sphere as a collider.

I keyframed the sphere to go through the board and then used that sphere is a Kinematic object to collide.

The problem is not all of the board is being affected. There are slivers that are left hanging in mid-air and no matter what I do I can't seem to get them to be affected.

If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Seem to recall a mention of this somewhere.
Bullet does not like some of the geometry that Fracture produces.
Before using Fracture try the Juliene2 tool (Multiply:Subdivide:More) a couple of times to give your object some subdivisions, say 16x16 on
the xy axis for instance, this will keep the geometry more compact and help stop it from creating those wierd slivers.
Or if it is just a simple box just recreate it with the subdivisions, then use Fracture.

And you'll find Fracture works better on an object that already has some subdivisions. Also try using guide-geometry in a background layer to "direct" the main area that gets fractured.

Humm I did not know this. Nice to know I had issues with not closed geometry...
