View Full Version : Shape of HAND PROPS that will be matched-replaced? / Preventing headaches?

So, imagine you're planning on replacing an actor's hand-prop with a rendered device that is too big, too ridiculous, too complicated, or too expensive to make as real prop.

What features could you add to the hand prop, and what SHAPE should you give it, to cause yourself the least amount of headaches when you are trying to track and add to the plate?

For instance, painted DOTS would of course be nice, but maybe bright little LEDs would be even better, if they didn't illuminate the actor/set.

What challenges/problems have you experienced when you've tried to do this? What worked, what surprised you by NOT working?
