View Full Version : creating an animated flower necklace

Hello all.

I want to animate an hawaiian flower necklace for a dancing character, in a way that the necklace would sway following the dance movements.
How would you go about it?

do you reffer to dynamics?

If it's on a different layer, just go on BONES and choose bones from the other layer and the flower will follow same animation.

If you reffer to dynamic motion, you must use cloth FX. It will follow with followthrought and overlappin animation.

Any image?

Or you can use IK booster with dynamic bones.

Yes, I was thinking about using dynamics. But I have little experience with it...
I mean, I am able to make a simple "string" necklace swaying, but don't know how to do anything a bit more complex.
I don't want the flowers to deform, only to follow along the movements of the main "string" of the necklace.

I don't have any images yet, because I wasn't even sure how to start modeling everything in order to work with the animation.
But I'm thinking something simple like this http://i03.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/109/729/262/1282012533194_hz-myalibaba-web2_928.jpg
Maybe even simpler, with less flowers, something more cartoonish.

Silvio I have just realized you're also from Brazil! hehehe I'm too lazy to write this all over so I'll leave it in english.

3DGFXStudios I have never used IK booster or dynamic bones, but I'll look it up on youtube and see if I find anything helpfull about it!

BTW, the proper term is lei (instead of Hawaiian Flower necklace).

Just thought you'd like to know.

GregMalick Thanks for the info!

Silvio That's just what I needed! I'm fixing up some other stuff from this project, and I'll go back to the "lei" as soon as I'm done with them.
I'll come back here if I have any problems!
