View Full Version : Good lightwave video tutorials for absolute beginners to the CGI scene?

Hey, I am extremely new to lightwave, and more importantly 3D animation, and would like some free or very low priced video tutorials. I have tried Googling, Binging, and even Yahooing, yet I have found nothing up to date (Some shortcuts not working, use depreciated features, etc.). Please post a link. Thank you!

I'm sorry if I've put this in the wrong place, if so, please move it. If you need more information, just ask. I didn't know how to word this question.

Try 3dgarage.net. I think they have the best tutorials for beginners...

Then there's William Vaughan's 24 hours of tutorials (http://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?77002-Hours-of-Free-LightWave-Training-(24-Hours-)).

Liberty3D has some that are project based so you'll see the entire process. They often have sales that get promoted here so you can look out for those.

There are good tutorials here.

You can also find those William Vaughn videos hosted on

The Lightwiki Youtube channel.

Also mentioned above is liberty3D. I highly recommend picking up the Larry Shultz Spline modeling videos. They are worth the money. At the very least the Modeling the Human Head with Splines will teach you tons.
