yup it's been a sad few weeks around here, sir patrick moore was a great chap, been watching his tv program since the 60's

Ah, my London pal ADORED him. Amazing longevity on the air. IIRC his show started the year I was born.

Very, Very sad indeed, used to watch him during the Apollo missions, takes me bad to my childhood.

I just caught it on the news. He was a legend - how many people presenting programmes are as passionate and knowledgable about the subject presented as he was. I can't remember him ever pandering to the publicity, he knew who he was and why he was there and that was what you got. And all the more richer for it - his passion was infectious! David Attenborough is another of the same ilk - I wish we had more like them.
