Rules:

1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a wire-frame and a render at 800x600 or larger.
3. LightWave must be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug-ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.
6. The winner is judged by the challenge starter and the prize is to set up the challenge after next week's.
*************************************************

This week's challenge: Aquariums. They've come a long way from the goldfish bowl of the old days. With modern materials, aquariums are being built in all sorts of crazy shapes, and all sorts of things are being put in them. (A whale shark? Seriously?) So, your best aquarium. Some of the unusual examples above might give you some ideas.

Time limit: 90 minutes

I tried a "steampunk" approach, but I'm afraid it just looks like a bulletproof phone booth. Maybe I'll try a different approach tomorrow.

Actually, I rather like it! It reminds me of the floatation tank in the film Altered States, especially with the blue light. :)

time! Not finished. well, the "bowl/aquarium" is finished. He's going to be glass, but I'm thinking the teeth are going to be problematic.
Needs sand water and, of course, a fish. :hey:

(pay no attention to the ugly star in there ;D)

XswampyX.... I guess mine would be titled "Unhappy Fish" - once he's in there.

Kaptive - thanks for mentioning ALTERED STATES. Love that movie!

Ha, it was a pretty good challenge I thought. I used to do more of these, I'll make it one of my new year's resolutions to participate in these more regularly.
