In Modeler, under the Display/Interface/Custom Interface Color button, there's quite a bit of control over interface color (tip: desaturate everything).

In Layout I've yet to find anything corresponding. Particularly I'd like to have control over that pale yellow Selected Item color-- right now it not working for me.

I figure it's GOT to be in there somewhere.

In the LW11-64.CFG file there is this entry:

DefaultObjectColor_fv 0.3764706 0.8784314 0.9411765
DefaultLightColor_fv 0.9411765 0.3764706 0.9411765
DefaultCameraColor_fv 0.1254902 0.8784314 0.1254902

ViewportBackgroundColor 128 128 128

StateButtonColor 88 103 92
DragButtonColor 121 121 166
ToolButtonColor 112 97 99

But I believe that's the UNselected colors (which I've futzed around with). The color setting for the SELECTED item is not jumping out at me.

It appears the lack of replies to this topic means that if Selected Object Color is NOT in the Options > Display > Customize Interface Colors config panel (said button being in the Alert Level and Toolbar group), which it is not, then there isn't any config file definition and thus it cannot be altered. Booo Hisss. Same for the item list selection color. I'd like to change it from it's default light gray, which is hardly lighter than the unselected items in the list, to my own hue. Nope.

Sorry, but currently the object selection color is hardcoded (which is a bit of a shame), but it will be configurable in newer versions of LightWave.

Thanks, what a drag.

They haven't mentioned it for 11.5, but the sooner it happens, the better. I don't know how many years we have to chant "All colors definable, renge-kyo" before they just cave and, y'know, make ALL colors definable. @^@
