Why is it that no matter what I do including adding jitter to the ground plane, I can't get rid of the row type pattern in the grass? I have tried everything.

Have you added scale and rotation minimum and maximums to your grass object? That should help a lot.

How are you generating the instances? Can you show a screen shot of your setup?

I'm using fiber FX.here is my setup. I do have the ground plane subdivided. Is that a problem?

Tony - you shoud use instances - it works really really nicely. This image has grass, clover and some white flowers. It was pretty easy using instances.

In that case might I suggest the same as SteveH - instances are the way forward. It's a cinch to set up - watching this might help a bit:

Nice render Steve! Where did you get the grass, clover and flowers? Were they in the LW11 content by any chance?

Thanks Adrian. The grass I used were a low poly version of the grass that Hieron gave away in this thread.

There are a bunch of new videos on the LW site with grass instancing among them.

Thanks for the links, I need some alternative grass to replace the rather rubbish Vue object I'm currently using. And as everyone else has said on this thread - instances rule! And yes I know you should never start a sentence with "and".
